As this publication noted in last year’s list, Hummel regularly wins “bet-the-company” matters for his clients and achieves multi-million-dollar verdicts that are among the top defense- and plaintiff-side matters in California. Despite the challenges of 2020-2021, Hummel recorded another impressive year. Among his successes was his work on behalf of Cardinal Financial Company. Hummel obtained a substantial unanimous confidential arbitration award against a former employee who had committed serious wrongdoing secretly working on behalf of a competitor.
