Susan L. Gutierrez is a trial lawyer specializing in high-stakes matters across industries. She is a litigator and advisor to Fortune 500 companies in the consumer products, pharmaceutical, media, entertainment and sports industries, including Creative Artists Agency and the National Basketball Association. Promoted to partner at Proskauer in 2018, she has been trial counsel for multiple clients in complex product liability trials including most recently for Johnson & Johnson in the highly-publicized talcum powder litigation.
Gutierrez has tried multiple high-profile cases to verdict in state and federal courts throughout the country. She also has significant experience coordinating and managing large, complex actions from the pleading stage through discovery and trial, including cross-jurisdiction matters involving multiple parties, counsel, and case issues. Recent key clients include Gilead and Mattel/Fisher Price, among others. When she is not in the courtroom, Gutierrez is fostering diversity in the legal profession.
