Brad Herrema, who leads Brownstein’s California Water Group, works with clients in California and the western United States to develop innovative strategies to secure and protect their water-related interests.
In the water-scarce climate of Southern California, Herrema understands the vital role that water supply plays in any project. From the development of groundwater sustainability plans, to identifying opportunities for water investment, to securing recreational water supplies, his approach integrates each client’s unique business needs, key stakeholders and long-term objectives. Herrema serves as special water counsel to private corporations, private equity funds, renewable energy developers, water purveyors, resorts and golf courses, investor-owned utilities and large landowners developing innovative strategies to address issues such as water supply planning, water right permitting and adjudications, and environmental concerns. Skilled at negotiating, Herrema excels at developing water strategies that proactively anticipate potential issues.
