Letter from the Publisher
During “normal” times, it’s hard to think of a more complex and challenging road than that of the health-related business sector. It’s an industry that continues to navigate through changes and the need for trouble-shooting, while providing services that are the most essential to those in need. This year in particular, with the COVID-19 crisis and all its accompanying challenges, it has been our health care leaders managing the front lines of treatment – for coronavirus as well as all other health concerns – while providing answers and best practices for the people and businesses of Los Angeles and beyond.
Once again, this year, we have set aside this special section of the Los Angeles Business Journal to honor the outstanding leaders in the world of health care for our region. These individuals, organizations and programs have made huge strides helping Los Angeles (and beyond) outstanding levels of care and treatment while fighting to help us navigate through uncharted waters.
We have chosen to recognize leaders and organizations that make an impact on both the frontlines of healthcare and those protecting the operational bottom lines as well.
This special section you are reading now spotlights the honorees we celebrated as part of our Health Care Panel & Awards virtual event on Wednesday, August 26th.
Eleven inspirational honoree organizations and individuals were announced this year and are described in this section. We applaud each of them, as well as the impactful collection of finalists, also listed in these pages. Congratulations – and thank you – to all the great health care leaders in Los Angeles who play such an integral role in our lives and the lives of our families, friends and coworkers – now more than ever.
