Matthew Steinberg has been a fixture in the Southern California litigation community for the past 40 years. He has achieved significant trial and appellate victories in state and federal courts. Over the course of his career, Steinberg has won significant jury verdicts for plaintiffs including three in excess of $4 million. On the defense side, he won a defense judgment after trial in a consumer class action in which the plaintiff class sought more than $200 million in restitution.
Steinberg’s outstanding achievement in 2019 thus far was winning a $5 million judgment following a five-week jury trial in Orange County Superior Court. He represented two Mexican investment companies in a breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty case. In addition to a large compensatory award, the jury awarded Steinberg’s clients a large punitive damages as well.
