Disney Announces Streaming Service Launch Dates

The Walt Disney Co. has unveiled international launch dates and pricing for its upcoming streaming service Disney+.

The service will be available in the United States, Canada and the Netherlands on Nov. 12. It will cost $7 a month or $70 a year in the United States, $8.99 a month or $89.99 a year in Canada, and 6.99 euros a month or 69.99 euros a year in the Netherlands.

A bundled package of Disney+, ESPN+ and Hulu will be available for $12.99 a month in the United States only.

On Nov. 19, Disney+ will go live in Australia and New Zealand. It will be priced similarly to the others.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, more international territories will follow, and Disney expects to activate Disney+ in major global markets within the first two years.

The streaming service will feature a huge library including Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar, National Geographic and 21st Century Fox content, plus original content for Disney+, including live-action series based on the Star Wars and Marvel franchises.

The company forecasts Disney+ will amass 60-90 million subscribers worldwide by 2024.
