Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is a 238-bed not-for-profit community hospital and trauma center that opened in 1975 to serve a rapidly growing community. Its vision is to create the ideal patient-centered environment to surpass expectations. In other words, to be great at what matters most to patients.
Henry Mayo is a part of LA County’s STEMI receiving network and provides a full spectrum of heart care services from cardiac intervention in the Roberta G. Veloz Cardiac Cath Lab to cardiac rehab and quarterly community heart fairs. In recent years it also opened the Kim & Steve Ullman Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Akbar Hasan Infusion Center. All of these expansions are the result of generous donations from area residents and business owners, as well as Henry Mayo medical staff and employees.
Established in 1984, the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation strives to increase community awareness of Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, and raise vital funds for expanding services and acquiring new technology to bolster the level of care already available at the Hospital. The Foundation has raised more than $50 million to give the residents of the LA community access to exceptional medical care.
Henry Mayo is also known for being an advanced primary stroke center, having a vital community cancer program, and has popular women’s services for maternity and breast center.

Henry Mayo’s outstanding affiliated medical staff is comprised of physicians whose expertise ranges across more than 71 specialties and subspecialties. These physicians, along with hospital clinical and support staff, are adopting new information technologies and continually enhancing care to improve outcomes and service for the people of LA.
