Strauss’ background is not typical for a financial quarterback. Most wealth managers develop some grounding with their undergraduate course work in finance or economics. Originally interested in pursuing math and computer science, Strauss received a Music Education degree from the University of Illinois. He then graduated from the USC Gould School of Law. He left his law career in 1983 to become a financial advisor. Plus, there is a unique aspect to his interaction with clients, which has allowed him to build and retain his client base for more than 35 years. He treats his clients as friends as well as business associates.
