Scott Gerard has joined Etonien LLC, an El Segundo accounting and financial consulting firm, as head of the internal audit and business risk consulting practice. Gerard was previously partner in the corporate governance services practice at Good Swartz Brown & Berns LLP, a division of J.H. Cohn LLP, an international accounting firm headquartered in Roseland, N.J.

Green Hasson & Janks LLP, a certified public accounting firm in Westwood, has promoted Donella Wilson and Farshad Yashar to partners. Most recently, Wilson and Yashar were principals with the firm.


The Beverly Hills office of HKS Inc., a Dallas-based architecture, engineering and interiors firm, has promoted Lance Evans, Philip Little, Nicholas Price and Saundra Price-Kish to associates, and Patrick Treadway to vice president. Evans was previously junior designer in the sports design group with the firm. Little and Price were construction administrators. Price-Kish was director of business development. Treadway was an associate.

Greg Lyon has joined Nadel Architects, a West L.A.-headquartered architectural design firm, as design principal. Lyon was previously design principal in the Santa Monica office of KTGY Group, an Irvine-based architectural design firm.


WET Design, a Sun Valley water feature design company, has hired David Gresham as vice president of design, Kim Lange as vice president of project development, Carlos Rodriguez as controller and Brian Rogers as chief financial officer. Gresham was previously co-founder of Lucesco Lighting Inc., an LED-based lighting company in Palo Alto. Lange was managing principal of MHA Studio, a Westchester development company. Rodriguez was vice president of accounting and finance at IndyMac Bank. Rogers was chief financial officer for Safeway Inc.


Stuart Silverstein has been named director of public affairs for BuildLACCD, the Los Angeles Community College District's modernization program for its nine colleges. Silverstein was previously deputy national political editor with the Los Angeles Times.


Scanlon Guerra Burke, a Woodland Hills-based insurance brokerage firm, has promoted Justin Schneir to partner. Schneir was previously assistant vice president with the firm.


Christie Parker & Hale LLP, a Pasadena-based intellectual property law firm, has promoted Oliver S. Bajracharya, G. Warren Bleeker and Lauren Schneider to special counsels. They were previously associate attorneys.

Kirk A. Hornbeck, Connie Tcheng and Samuel B. Wald have been hired as associates in the downtown L.A. office of Hunton & Williams LLP, a Washington, D.C.-based law firm. Previously, Hornbeck, Tcheng and Wald were associates with Heller Ehrman LLP, an international law firm headquartered in San Francisco.

Aleks S. Frimershtein and Charles Wolf have been promoted to partners in the downtown L.A. office of Boston-based Nixon Peabody LLP. Frimershtein and Wolf were previously attorneys with the firm.

Lloyd MacNeil has been named counsel in the downtown L.A. office of Chadbourne & Parke LLP, a New York-headquartered international law firm. MacNeil was previously an associate at the firm's L.A. office.


Dunn-Edwards Corp., a Vernon-based company manufacturing architectural paints, has named Karl Altergott president and chief operating officer. Previously, Altergott was chief executive of Rincon Industries, a precision metal fabrication and data center equipment company based in Newark.


Sharon Spira-Cushnir has been named chief executive of Executive Service Corps of Southern California, a Westlake-based non-profit organization devoted to strengthening non-profits through coaching and consulting. Spira-Cushnir was previously chief operating officer with the downtown L.A. office of Chrysalis, a homeless service agency.

The Pasadena-based L.A. County affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a Dallas-headquartered non-profit organization supporting breast cancer research, education and health services, has named Catherine Mullally executive director. Mullally was previously president of CMC Group LLC, a New York-based brand strategy and communication consultancy.

Joe Marcy has been appointed sales manager of the Pasadena Convention and Visitors Bureau. Marcy was previously sales coordinator with the bureau.

Inner City Law Center, a Los Angeles-based non-profit organization that provides social service advocacy to homeless and low-income clients, has elected Alfredo Sanchez to its board. The center also hired Greg Spiegel as director of public policy and communications. Sanchez is senior vice president, secretary and general counsel of Citibank. Spiegel was previously a staff attorney at the Western Center on Law and Poverty office in Koreatown.


The Hollywood office of Frantic Films VFX, a visual effects facility based in Winnipeg, Canada, has hired Terry Clotiaux as senior vice president and chief operating officer for its parent company, Prime Focus Group; and senior executive producer for North America. Previously, Clotiaux was executive producer for Digital Domain, a Venice-based digital production studio.

Real Estate

Steven H. Berkowitz has been appointed chief executive of Move Inc., a Westlake Village-based online real estate company. Berkowitz was previously a senior vice president of Microsoft's online services group.

King's Arch Capital, a Beverly Hills-based real estate firm, has hired P.J. Javaheri as general counsel. Javaheri previously served as real estate and corporate attorney in the downtown L.A. office of Winston & Strawn LLP, a Chicago-based international law firm.


Kevin R. Harris has been named chief financial officer of CyberDefender Corp., a downtown L.A.-based security technology company. Harris was previously chief operating officer of Statmon Technologies Corp., a wireless network and infrastructure technology management company based in Bannockburn, Ill.
