Rita Mitchell has joined Wells Fargo's small-business administration lending team as district sales manager. Mitchell was previously vice president and regional sales manager for Wachovia small-business capital.


Alan Ett Creative Group, a Studio City music and production company, has named Peter Isacksen president. Isacksen was previously founder of Radio With Pictures, a Los Angeles TV and film production

Marguerite Pacacha has been promoted to executive vice president of business affairs and legal for Paramount Home Entertainment. Pacacha was previously senior vice president of business affairs and legal with the company.


Hilton Hotels Corp. has appointed Paul J. Brown president of global brands and shared services in the Beverly Hills office. Brown previously served as North American region president of online travel company Expedia Inc., based in Bellevue, Wash.

Human Resources

Don Morgan has been named principal of Gary Kaplan & Associates, a Pasadena executive search firm. Morgan was previously vice president of mission advancement at Verbum Dei Cristo Rey High School in Watts.


Edgewood Partners Insurance Center, an insurance brokerage headquartered in San Mateo, has hired Michael P. Checca and Elliott Rothman as principals in its Los Angeles office. Checca and Rothman were previously vice presidents at Hilb Rogal & Hobbs, Glen Allen, Va.-based insurance broker.


Susan K. Breen has been named partner at Frandzel Robins Bloom & Csato L.C., a Los Angeles-based law firm. Breen was previously a partner at Encino firm Hemar Rousso & Heald LLP.

The downtown L.A. office of law firm Holland & Knight has named Karl J. Lott senior counsel of the firm's West Coast real estate practice. Lott was previously a founding member of law firm Lamb & Kawakami LLP, based in downtown Los Angeles.

Law firm Sedgwick Detert Moran & Arnold LLP has named Heather McCloskey and Paul Menes special counsels in its downtown L.A. office. McCloskey was previously a partner at Ervin Cohen & Jessup LLP, a Beverly Hills law firm. Menes was a partner at Duval & Stachenfeld LLP, a New York law firm.


Jen Barth has joined Kelton Research, a Culver City-headquartered market research consultancy, as executive vice president of marketing and business development. Barth was previously vice president of business development for Siegel + Gale, an international branding company headquartered in West Los Angeles.


Scott Grogin has been promoted to senior vice president of communications for Beverly Hills-based Fox Networks Group. Grogin was previously senior vice president of corporate communications for Fox Broadcasting Co.

Tsavo Media, a Santa Monica company that provides search engine and pay-per-click services, has hired Sean Percival as director of content. Percival previously served as content manager at Beverly Hills-based


Bonnie Nijst has been elected to the board of California Family Health Council, a Koreatown-based non-profit health organization. Nijst is president of Zeesman Communications Inc., a Beverly Hills-based communications firm.

Non-profit organization and research institute Urban Land Institute Los Angeles, has named Katherine Aguilar Perez executive director in its downtown L.A. office. Perez is an adjunct professor at the USC School of Planning and Development.

Hathaway-Sycamore Child and Family Services, a non-profit children's mental health and welfare agency in Pasadena, has appointed John Vandemore to its board. Vandemore is chief financial officer of Walt Disney Imagineering in Burbank.

Real Estate

Douglas Haney has joined downtown L.A.-based IDS Real Estate Group as director. Haney was previously president of CB Richard Ellis' valuation and advisory services in the Los Angeles area.

The West Los Angeles office of real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle has promoted Nicole Mouren-Laurens to vice president of project and development services and Mary Tamaki to vice president. Mouren-Laurens was previously senior operations manager. Tamaki was marketing director.

Kenneth Stevens has joined the Santa Monica office of commercial real estate firm KW Commercial as first vice president of investments. Stevens previously served as vice president of investments at Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services.

The downtown L.A. office of Grubb & Ellis Co., a real estate services and investment firm, has hired Jeffrey L. Thompson as senior vice president of its industrial group. Thompson was previously senior vice president at Colliers Seeley, a commercial real estate firm.


Southern California Minority Business Development Council, a downtown Los Angeles-based non-profit minority business advocacy organization, has honored Earvin "Magic" Johnson with its annual leadership award. Johnson is founder and chairman of the Magic Johnson Foundation Inc., a non-profit organization promoting the health, social and educational well-being of urban youth.
