Eric Chang has been promoted to senior associate in the Century City office of HGA Architects and Engineers, a Minneapolis-based architecture, engineering and planning firm. Chang was previously project manager with the firm.

HMC Architects has hired Dimitris Klapsis as senior project manager and James Woolum as principal and director of design in its downtown L.A. office. Klapsis was previously senior associate at Torti Gallas and Partners, an architecture firm based in Silver Springs, Md. Woolum owned James Woolum Design Inc. in West Hollywood.

Chester Salit has joined the Pasadena office of Gkkworks, an Irvine-based architecture and construction services firm, as director of operations. Salit was previously vice president and director of operations for the downtown L.A. office of Leo A Daly, an architecture and engineering firm based in Omaha, Neb.

Consulting

The downtown L.A. office of Accretive Solutions, a New York-based business consulting and executive search firm, has appointed George Alexander vice president and market leader for its Southern California offices. Alexander was previously a founder of Alexander Consulting LLC.

Engineering

Rick Richter has been named principal of Partner Engineering and Science Inc., an El Segundo-based environmental and engineering consulting firm. Richter was previously principal of National Assessment Corp., a San Diego-based real estate due-diligence firm.

Entertainment

Trailer Park, a Hollywood entertainment marketing agency, has promoted Matt Brubaker to president of its theatrical division. Brubaker was previously executive vice president and creative director with the company.

Government

Gail Farber has been named public works director for Los Angeles County. Farber was previously director of public works and city engineer for the City of Orange.

Health Care

The South Robertson office of the American Cancer Society has appointed Charles G. Smith chairman. Smith is a partner with Towle Denison Smith & Tavera LLP, a Westwood law firm.

Hospitality

Javier Cano has been appointed general manager of the Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles in downtown Los Angeles. Cano was previously general manager of the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua in Hawaii.



Law

Paul A. Barrs and Ryan D. Staley have joined Buchalter Nemer, a downtown Los Angeles business law firm, as associates in the real estate practice group. Barrs and Staley were previously associates at law firm Heller Ehrman LLP.

Levene Neale Bender Rankin & Brill LLP, a Century City-based bankruptcy law firm, has hired Krikor John Meshefejian as an associate. Meshefejian was previously a law clerk to Judge Victoria Kaufman of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.

Theodora Oringher Miller & Richman PC has named Eric T. Jorgensen senior attorney in the firm's Century City office. Jorgensen was previously a partner at Reed Smith LLP, a Pittsburgh-based law firm.

Meena Kotak has joined Reish Luftman Reicher & Cohen, a West Los Angeles-based law firm, as senior associate in its tax, estate planning and probate practice group. Kotak was previously a partner at Nordman
Cormany Hair & Compton LLP, an Oxnard law firm.

Tara S. Kole has been named partner at Gang Tyre Ramer & Brown, an entertainment law firm in Beverly Hills. Kole was previously an associate with the firm.

Management

Storm Industries Inc., a Torrance management services company, has promoted David Simard to president of Storm Properties and Storm Western Development. Simard was previously vice president with the company.

Marketing

Culver City-based marketing agency Wongdoody has named Michael Polley its chief financial officer. Previously, Polley was chief financial officer, west region, in the San Francisco office of McCann Worldgroup's MRM Worldwide, a digital advertising agency.

Media

Outcast, a Santa Monica-headquartered digital media company, has hired Sean Lyden as vice president of product strategy. Lyden previously served as senior manager of international product strategy for Sunnyvale-based Yahoo Inc.

Real Estate

Real estate investment firm CB Richard Ellis Investors has appointed Peter DiCorpo chief operating officer in its downtown L.A. office. DiCorpo was previously chief administrative officer with AIG Global Real Estate Investment Corp. in New York.

Stephen J. Geiger has been named senior vice president in the Calabasas office of Lee & Associates, a commercial real estate brokerage. Geiger was previously a private developer of commercial and residential properties.

Retail


Mark Duvall has joined Cooking.com, a Santa Monica-based company that sells kitchenware and provides recipes online, as vice president of technology. Duvall was previously senior manager with Wolters Kluwer, a multimedia company in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

LEDtronics Inc., a Torrance manufacturer of light-emitting diode bulbs, has named Greg Krymer product sales manager for architectural lighting. Krymer previously served as the company's Southern California district sales manager.
