RSM McGladrey Inc., a business services firm in Pasadena, promoted Margaret Shanley to managing director. Shanley was previously a senior manager.

Alan Merson was hired by Freeman Group Inc, a Santa Monica-based construction management company, to oversee the Wallis Annenberg Cultural Center of Beverly Hills and Palos Verdes Golf Club projects. Merson was previously vice president with Morley Builders in Santa Monica.

Tel Aviv University: American Council hired Ruth Singer as western region chairwoman based in Los Angeles. Singer was previously a missions chairwoman of the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles.

Malibu-based Amber Hotel Co. hired Thomas Johnson as vice president. Johnson was previously a managing partner of the Northwoods Resort in Big Bear Lake.

Robert Finkelstein was named head of the risk consulting practice for the Los Angeles office of Marsh. Finkelstein was previously a senior vice president, managing consultant responsible for the property risk consulting practice.

Peter C. Foy & Associates, an insurance broker and consultant in Woodland Hills, hired Lisa Mee-Stephenson as director of communications and public relations. Mee-Stephenson will also be responsible for communications and public relations for the Foy Foundation, a charitable organization benefiting children. Mee-Stephenson was previously a corporate communications manager at WellPoint Inc. in Thousand Oaks.

Brown Winfield & Canzoneri Inc. in Los Angeles hired Sylvia Lautsch as senior counsel. Lautsch was previously special counsel at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP in Los Angeles.

Foley & Lardner in Los Angeles hired Carole E. Handler as vice chairwoman of the intellectual property litigation practice group and a member of the entertainment and media industry team. Handler was previously lead counsel in several energy antitrust cases.

Catapult Marketing, based in Westport, Conn., hired Matthew Jonas as regional president based in its Los Angeles office. Jonas was previously executive vice president, general manager, at the Ryan Channel Marketing Group in Los Angeles.

Encino-based Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Brokerage Co. promoted Stuart Steinberg to sales manager. Steinberg was previously a senior investment associate.

Trammell Crow Co., a Century City-based commercial real estate services firm, hired Robert P. Zelken as senior vice president, focusing on tenant representation/corporate advisory services. Zelken was previously senior vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle in Los Angeles.

Grubb & Ellis Co., a provider of integrated real estate services in Los Angeles, hired Gerald L. Eggleston as senior vice president. Eggleston was previously senior director at Cushman & Wakefield in Los Angeles.

Westlake Village-based hired Eric Gramberg as vice president of sales. Gramberg was previously manager of all real estate advertising at the Los Angeles Times and the Orange County Register.

Westfield Group, an Australia-based company that owns Westfield shopping centers in the United States, hired Doreese Norman as marketing director of Westfield Fox Hills and Nicole Jasinskas as marketing director of Westfield Santa Anita and Eagle Rock. Norman was previously marketing/promotions manager for Makai Events & Promotions Inc. and Jasinskas was an international merchandising/brand manager for Guess Los Angeles.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Gardena hired Chris Sbarbaro as group vice president of sales and marketing for its Southern California operations. Sbarbaro was previously regional vice president.

Raytheon Co. Space and Airborne Systems, an El Segundo-based provider of sensor systems for civil and military applications, promoted Susan Sloan to vice president for performance excellence. Sloan was previously director of operations for strategic systems in Raytheon's space programs. Robert D. Kern was named to the new position of vice president of program management. Kern was previously vice president of engineering for space and airborne systems. Kevin T. Neifert was hired as vice president of engineering and Dina A. Hyde as vice president of supply chain. Technicolor Network Services, a division of Paris-based Thomson and a technology provider for the media and entertainment industries, hired Will Berryman as vice president of technology strategy and operations based in Burbank. Berryman was previously chief technology officer and head of technology and distribution for SBS Corp., an Australian national public broadcaster.

StereoVision, a Van Nuys-based media company, named Jack Honour as chairman, chief executive and acting chief financial officer. Honour is StereoVision's founder and former CEO.

The Water Replenishment District, hired Elsa Lopez as education and partnerships program manager. Lopez was previously the center director for the National Audubon Society in Los Angeles.
