HOTEL TUGU BALI & VILLA TUGU BALI, UNIQUE LUXURY RESORT
FEATURING EXCLUSIVE COLLECTION OF HISTORIC INDONESIAN ART & CULTURAL ARTIFACTS, SET FOR JULY 9 GRAND OPENING IN BALI
BALI, XXX - Offering the comforts of today and the traditions of yesterday, Hotel Tugu Bali and the adjacent Villa Tugu Bali - set on a pristine hilltop near the ocean and featuring an exclusive collection of historic Indonesian artwork and cultural artifacts - will mark its Grand Opening Wednesday, July 9, 1997. The announcement was made today by Anhar Setjadibrata, owner of the new luxury resort and Bali's largest collector of fine Indonesian art.
A sister resort to the popular Hotel Tugu Malang in East Java, Hotel Tugu Bali will not only showcase a rare collection of Indonesian artwork in its entrance areas, lobby, restaurant and other general guest facilities, but will feature further antiquities in each of its 26 individualized rooms and suites. As a result, Hotel Tugu Bali will afford guests the opportunity to re-live the history and traditions of the Indonesian culture while enjoying all of the comforts, services and amenities of today's finest luxury resorts. In addition, the highly individualized nature of each guest room will ensure that no two visits to Hotel Tugu Bali will ever be exactly alike.
Representing Bali's first museum boutique hotel and unlike any resort in the region, Hotel Tugu Bali is located 30 minutes from Bali's International Airport. Set in a private, quiet and romantic retreat in the Canggu district near a traditional Balinese fishing village, Hotel Tugu Bali is nestled amidst lush paddy fields near Batu Bolong Temple, one of Bali's most sacred temples. The resort, featuring its own broad sandy beach and easy access to other popular regional swimming, surfing and snorkeling beaches, is only a 15-minute drive from the enchanting tourist areas of Kuta and Legian.
Hotel Tugu Bali, which will celebrate its Grand Opening July 9 during a special event attended by the Governor of Bali, offers a wide array of guest facilities and services, including two restaurants, a tea verandah, an antique gallery, meeting hall, bar, art and antiques shop, bike rental, library, taxi service and horse-drawn bendi cart.
Immediately establishing its uniquely artistic and historic identity, Hotel Tugu Bali welcomes guests via Wantilan Agung (The Grand Ceremonial House), carved with 39 wooden Bomas (mythological giant guardians) on the crossbeams, and replete with columns inspired by the ancient ceremonial house in the ancient village of Bayung Gede. The main entrance leads to the resort's 26 rooms and suites, all set amidst tropical gardens and a tranquil pool of wild lotus.
