Two of AOL Patch’s local editors in Los Angeles announced their departure from the site today.
Mike Szymanski announced he is leaving as editor of Studio City Patch and Saul Daniels announced he is leaving as editor of the Northridge-Chatsworth Patch.
AOL is cutting as many as half of its 1,000 employees at its Patch network of so-called “hyperlocal” blogs and shuttering many of the sites this year as part of a push toward profitability.
The company told many of its Patch employees in Los Angeles they would be cut on Oct. 15, the Business Journal reported last month.
