Sohagi Law Merges With Meyers Nave

Brentwood environmental law firm Sohagi Law Group merges with Meyers Nave.

Oakland law firm Meyers Nave this year bolstered its Los Angeles group by merging Brentwood environmental law boutique Sohagi Law Group into the fold.

The merger, effective Feb. 1, added five L.A.-based attorneys to the group, all of whom specialize in environmental and land-use law. Sohagi Law, which was founded by Margaret Sohagi nearly 20 years ago, distinguished itself with its work related to California Environmental Quality Act, or CEQA, cases.

“We have a longstanding relationship with Meyers Nave, sharing many common clients and having worked on some of the most advanced and complex projects across California. We have a shared commitment to excellence, especially in land use law and in delivering client service that is second to none,” Sohagi said in a statement. “Joining Meyers Nave expands our ability to service our clients and unlocks growth opportunities.”

Joining Sohagi in the move are Nicole Gordon, R. Tyson Sohagi, Albert Herson and Mark Desrosiers. They join a Meyers Nave environmental and land-use team led by Amrit Kulkarni, who is based out of Mayers Nave’s downtown office. The firm will retain Sohagi Law’s Brentwood office for now.

“This combination brings together two premier environmental and land use groups that collectively work on some of the most prominent infrastructure, development and related litigation in California,” said Meyers Nave Managing Principal David Skinner in a statement. “The attorneys in both groups have known each other for years, often times working on the same projects.”
