Michael Jones has long been entrenched in the technology sector. He founded Userplane, an instant messaging platform that was acquired by AOL in 2006. He ran Myspace as the company’s chief executive in 2010 and oversaw the acquisition of the social media platform. In 2011, he founded Science Inc., a startup incubator and venture capital firm based in Santa Monica. The firm has made several investments in high-profile companies in the consumer market, like consumer packaged goods brand Dollar Shave Club (which was acquired for $1 billion), drinks company Liquid Death, mobile games platform Scopely (which was also acquired for $4.9 billion), and Pray.com.
