As Netflix Inc.’s chief content officer, Bela Bajaria oversees all global film, series and live programming and manages a roughly $17 billion annual content budget. Bajaria, who reports directly to Co-Chief Executive Ted Sarandos, joined Netflix in 2016. Under her leadership, Netflix has produced a diverse slate of dominant franchises, including Stranger Things, Squid Game, Wednesday and Bridgerton, and has expanded into live events and sports. Bajaria secured marquee deals that brought WWE’s Raw and NFL Christmas Day games to the platform. In 2024, she was named a CNBC Changemaker and elected to the Coca-Cola Co. board of directors. She previously served as president of Universal Television, where she made history as the first woman of color to lead a major television studio.
