LA500 2026: Karan Kunjur

Karan Kunjur

Chief Executive, Founder
K2 Space

Karan Kunjur is the co-founder and chief executive of K2 Space, an aerospace and national security startup based out of Torrance. The company raised $250 million at a $3 billion valuation in 2025, making it one of Los Angeles’ unicorn-valued companies. K2 Space is one of many aerospace companies in Los Angeles’ South Bay seeing renewed interest from investors. Kunjur along with his brother and K2 Space co-founder, Neel Kunjur – a former SpaceX employee – are part of a new wave of aerospace founders paving the way for the next generation of venture-backed space companies. The goal is to iterate on what SpaceX made possible: a cheaper, faster way to achieve spaceflight. Today, these companies are laser focused on specific use cases for space: military operations, climate change tracking, internet enabling, and manufacturing, to name a few.
