Joe Ramos became president and chief executive of the Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation – a leading nonprofit biomedical research organization at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in West Carson – in early 2025. Since then, Ramos has faced federal research funding cuts and grant denials – a challenge that has tested the institute’s resilience and his leadership.
