Dominic Ng is chairman and chief executive of Pasadena-based East West Bank, the largest publicly traded bank headquartered in Southern California, with $80 billion in assets. The commercial bank, founded in 1973, has long focused on serving the Chinese-American community and has over 600,000 customers. Its parent company, East West Bancorp Inc., reported a record net income of $1.3 billion in 2025, with diluted earnings per share up 14% year over year. Ng has led East West since 1992, when it was a $600 million savings and loan association. Last year, he co-founded First Light StoryHouse, a label focused on Asian and Asian American narratives with Korean-based CJ ENM.
