Founder, President
MJW Investments
Weinstein founded MJW Investments in 1983 as a family-owned real estate investment firm specializing in student housing and multifamily assets. Today, MJW is the majority owner and manager of a $1.5 billion portfolio comprised of 6,800 student housing beds and 1,600 multifamily units. MJW’s strategy is focused on acquiring risk-averse real estate that provides steady cash flow and appreciation to its investors, according to the company. Over the past three years, MJW’s transaction volume exceeded $600 million. The company recently expanded its property management division and, after selling several student housing assets with strong returns, plans to launch a student housing fund focused specifically on value-add opportunities in major universities. Weinstein, a former attorney, is active in philanthropy through the Jewish Federation and AIPAC and also serves as an adviser to Dignity Moves, a nonprofit focused on housing the homeless.
