As the chief executive of Santa Monica-based Skydance Media, Ellison sets and executes the strategic vision for the company across all its divisions: feature film, television, animation, games and sports. He is also the force behind the proposed merger with Paramount Global, which had not closed as of press time. If the deal closes, he will be in charge of a sprawling media empire that included CBS, MTV and the Paramount movie studio. Ellison started Skydance in 2010 as a film company but then expanded into television in 2013, animation in 2017, sports in 2021 and into games as of last year. The animation studio recently formed a multi-year distribution deal with Netflix. He is the son of Oracle Corp. co-founder and multibillionaire, Larry Ellison.
