Ring and his plaintiff’s firm Co-Founder John Taylor have been busy. The firm, founded in 2002, takes on a variety of sexual abuse and wrongful death cases targeting public institutions. Ring this year secured a multimillion-dollar settlement for the killing of a 4-year-old under the custody of the Department of Children and Family Services. Last year, he landed three settlements with Los Angeles Unified School District concerning the sexual abuse and assault of children in its custody to the tune of more than $32 million. Ring also represented Jane Doe 1 against disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein; that rape conviction was Weinstein’s only criminal conviction in California. He additionally represented the relatives of the Riverside mother and grandparents killed in 2022 by Virginia sheriff’s deputy Austin Lee Edwards, the so-called “Catfish Cop” who had kidnapped the mother’s 15-year-old daughter after pursuing an illicit internet relationship with her.
