Lehrer is president of Studio-MLA, a landscape architecture, urban design and planning practice she founded in 1997 which has offices in Boyle Heights and San Francisco. Among its notable projects: Hollywood Park redevelopment/SoFi Stadium; the Los Angeles County Natural History Museum Gardens; the nearly-completed Lucas Museum of Narrative Art; and the Los Angeles River Taylor Yard G2 Park. Studio-MLA is the landscape architect behind two of the biggest active projects in the Arts District: 670 Mesquit by Vella Group and an East End Studios campus. Lehrer serves on the board of commissioners for LADWP. In 2021, she received the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum’s national design award for landscape
architecture.
