Civic Leader, Developer
Shortly after wildfires devastated Los Angeles earlier this year, longtime civic leader and developer Steve Soboroff was named chief recovery officer for Los Angeles where he was tasked with overseeing rebuilding in the Pacific Palisades. The role has since ended.
Soboroff is no stranger to development. He was the chair and chief executive of Playa Vista and a champion for the building of Staples Center (now Crypto.com Arena).
He is also the developer behind project such as The Park at Cross Creek in Malibu, which he sold last year for $80 million.
He is also known for his expansive resume as a civic leader which includes former Los Angeles police commissioner, a parks commissioner and chair of the Center for the Study of Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount University.
He has also served on the boards of the Weingart Foundation and Macerich Co.
