Hammond leads City National Bank, the largest bank headquartered in the county by assets. In the year-and-a-half he’s been in charge, the downtown bank opened a new branch in Whittier, expanded its mortgage lending through its Ladder Up Home Loan Grant program and donated $3 million to support wildfire relief and recovery efforts, in collaboration with parent company, Royal Bank of Canada. Prior to joining CNB, Hammond spent 17 years at Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati, where he held a number of positions including executive vice president and head of consumer banking. While at the University of Albany, Hammond played third base for the school’s baseball team.
