Santana leads the California Community Foundation, based in downtown. The organization works with more than $2.3 billion in assets. It manages more than 1,900 charitable foundations, funds and legacies. Santana was involved in the campaign for Measure A, which passed last year. It looks to reform homeless spending, increase access to services and expand affordable housing. CCF’s Wildfire Recovery Fund raised more than $70 million within five weeks of the wildfires earlier this year. Santana took on his role as chief executive at CCF in 2023. Before that he led the Weingart Foundation. He began his career at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund and served in the office of L.A. County Supervisor Gloria Molina.
