Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. said it was awarded a contract to provide project management consulting services for construction of a large pipe rolling mill near Corpus Christi, Texas.
The Pasadena company did not disclose the value of its contract with Tianjin Pipe Corp., but said the total project would cost nearly $1 billion. Jacobs said it would assist TPCO with the coordination and management of engineering, procurement, and construction for the mill.
The new manufacturing facility, located near the Port of Corpus Christi, is scheduled to be completed in stages beginning this December and ending in December 2014.
Shares were down 1 cent, or less than 1 percent, to $46.46 in midday trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
