Duarte cancer treatment center City of Hope on Monday opened its full-service cancer center in Lancaster in partnership with Antelope Valley Hospital.

The City of Hope Antelope Valley Cancer and Community Education Center is offering cancer diagnosis, surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. In addition to clinics, the 56,000-square-foot, two-story building includes doctor offices, a conference center and a 172-seat auditorium.

City of Hope, a non-profit cancer research and treatment center, has been expanding its presence in the greater San Fernando Valley. Last month, it announced a partnership with Providence Health & Services, owner of three local hospitals, to provide cancer treatment.

“The opening of City of Hope Antelope Valley is an important milestone in our strategic initiative to increase access to our uniquely patient-centered care,” City of Hope President Robert Stone, said in a statement. “With more people than ever impacted by cancer, both patients and their families will benefit from receiving high-quality treatment close to home.”

The facility at 44151 15th St. West, across from Antelope Valley Hospital, will hold a grand opening on Thursday.
