The Dow Jones industrial average fell 239 points in Wednesday trading to close at 16,254.
The S&P 500 fell 27 points to close at 1,942.
The Nasdaq fell 55 points to 4,757.
The LABJ Stock Index fell 4 points to 220.
Among stocks trading above $1, Mid-Wilshire’s Broadway Financial Corp., parent of Broadway Federal Bank, was Wednesday’s biggest gainer. Shares rose 7 percent to $1.44.
The day’s biggest loser was Valencia’s MannKind Corp. Shares closed down 10 percent Wednesday to close at $3.66. Earlier in the day, an analyst at Piper Jaffray Cos. downgraded MannKind’s stock to a “neutral” rating from a “buy.”
