Ttheane Evangelis has spent more than 20 years honing a practice that has positioned her as one of the country’s leading litigators. She serves as co-chair of Gibson Dunn’s global Litigation Practice Group and previously served as co-chair of the firm’s Class Action Practice Group. Among her recent accomplishments has been her work achieving a groundbreaking victory at the Supreme Court of the United States on behalf of Grants Pass, Oregon, in a landmark case addressing whether the Eighth Amendment bars local governments from enforcing public-camping regulations. In a 6-3 decision handed down on June 28, the Supreme Court held that the constitutional prohibition on “cruel and unusual punishments” does not forbid regulation of camping on public property.
