In the past five years, he has elevat-ed the firm’s global M&A / PE practice from 40th place to third place nationally (Q1 2022) in Bloomberg’s rankings by deal value. Under his leadership, Sidley Austin was named by Law360 a Practice Group of the Year in 2022 for Private Equity. In addition to maintaining one of the most prolific and influential M&A and PE practices in the country, Clivner continues to handle some of the firm’s most high-profile transactional matters for clients. His extensive experience includes matters in PE, M&A and corporate governance and advising executives, boards, management, special committees and invest-ment banking firms on domestic and international corporate transactions.
