Ana O’Brien was recently named deputy office managing partner for Latham & Watkins in Los Angeles, a role in which she’ll work with OMP Jeff Bjork to coordinate the efforts of more than 270 lawyers and professionals who support them in the firm’s two LA County offices in Century City and Downtown Los Angeles. O’Brien takes on her new leadership position while also serving as global co-chair of the firm’s REIT Industry Group. A former chair of the Los Angeles office’s Tax Department, she maintains her industry-leading tax practice, which focuses primarily on the federal taxation of real estate investment trusts (REITs), corporations and partnerships in a variety of US and international contexts. She often advises clients in Los Angeles and nationally on tax issues associated with mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, financing transactions and joint ventures.
