GEORGE GREENE
President; CEO
Hospital Association of Southern California
George W. Greene has served as president and CEO of the Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC) for the past nine years, providing exceptional leadership during one of the most challenging periods in modern health care. Leading an association representing more than 170 hospitals across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, Greene has become a respected voice for hospitals and the millions of patients they serve. His leadership extends beyond HASC to its affiliated organizations and subsidiaries, including the National Health Foundation, ReddiNet and Communities Lifting Communities, helping strengthen the region’s health care infrastructure and community partnerships.
Throughout his tenure, Greene has successfully guided Southern California hospitals through unprecedented crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic, devastating Southern California wildfires, and the significant policy and financial impacts resulting from the enactment of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). At the same time, he has helped hospitals navigate persistent workforce shortages, inadequate reimbursement, behavioral health capacity challenges, homelessness and other issues that continue to strain the health care system. During each of these challenges, Greene has remained a steady, collaborative leader who brings together hospitals, government agencies, health plans and community organizations to develop practical solutions that improve care and strengthen the region’s health care delivery system.
A tireless advocate, Greene leads HASC’s legislative and regulatory efforts to protect hospitals while advancing policies that improve access to quality care for millions of Southern California residents. His thoughtful, collaborative approach has earned the trust of policymakers, health care executives and community leaders alike.
