Christian Gastelum MD is a board-certified endocrinologist who specializes in diabetes and metabolism. He is fellowship-trained to perform routine thyroid ultrasound and biopsy. When he started at PIH Health in 2009, Dr. Gastelum developed the glucose management team (GMT) and has since been the director of the inpatient GMT. He also served as the endocrine medical director from 2009-2018. Dr. Gastelum taught as an associate professor of medicine for Loma Linda University Medical School beginning in 2008 until 2015. Prior to joining PIH Health, Dr. Gastelum worked as a physician leader in the Diabetes Group Appointment/Class at Southern California Kaiser Permanente Medical Group’s Internal Medicine practice.
