Sheldon is advising police agencies throughout California on new laws requiring the disclosure of police records in cases of officer shootings and misconduct, and how to respond to requests for records. Sheldon is a recognized expert on the Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill of Rights Act and the Firefighters Procedural Bill of Rights Act, and has an impressive track record of success in representing public employers in trial court and appellate litigation, as well as in prosecuting disciplinary actions involving police officers, firefighters and civilian employees accused of workplace misconduct.
