Mira Hashmall, Partner at Miller Barondess LLP, is an experienced litigator who represents clients in all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation counseling to appellate proceedings. She has successfully represented clients in federal and state court jury trials, including healthcare companies, commercial banks, government agencies, and entertainment studios, among many others. She specializes in employment litigation matters involving race and gender discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour, and wrongful termination claims for private and public employers.
Mira is a Certified Appellate Specialist and heads the appellate department at Miller Barondess. She has represented clients in appellate proceedings before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Courts of Appeals for the Sixth, Ninth and Tenth Circuits, and the California Courts of Appeal. She has obtained appellate victories for clients in federal appeals involving First Amendment claims, insurance coverage issues, defamation and libel claims, and employment disputes. Mira also has significant experience representing clients in anti-SLAPP litigation at the trial and appellate levels.
A member of Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, California Women Lawyers, the National Association of Women Lawyers and the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles, Mira is a strong female advocate and uses her legal expertise to help empower other women. She has been recognized by Los Angeles Business Journal on its lists of Top Litigators, Top Minority Attorneys, and Most Influential Women Lawyers; and the Daily Journal has honored her as a Top Labor and Employment Lawyer and has recognized her on its list of Top 40 Under 40 attorneys. She also is listed as one of the Top Women Lawyers in California.
Mira holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley and a Juris Doctorate from the USC Gould School of Law.
