Michael Biener and his team have accomplished more in the last two years at B. Riley Financial than most corporate IT departments handle over the course of an entire decade. His role has been critical to driving the growth of B. Riley from a boutique LA-centric firm into the more than 1,000-person global diversified financial services company it is today. In his more than 15 years with B. Riley, Biener has seen the company’s evolution through several major transformational acquisitions. As Deputy CIO, Biener also co-manages a centralized IT department of over 20 responsible for providing 24/7 day-to-day IT support services to all employees.

Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer – The Agency
Shane Farkas currently holds the positions of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer at The Agency. As part of the company’s founding team, Farkas played an instrumental role in developing all of The Agency’s operational systems and processes. Under his leadership, The Agency’s technology division has developed industry-leading, proprietary software platforms for the company’s Residential Brokerage and New Development business divisions. He manages in-house and outsourced software development teams and negotiates the company’s relationships and integrations with third party software vendors and partners.
