Cargo volume at the Port of Long Beach climbed 2.5 percent in November, compared to the same month last year, according to figures released Monday.
About 570,000 containers moved through the port last month. Imports were up 6.5 percent, and exports rose 9.9 percent, compared to the same period last year.
The number of empties, containers sent overseas empty to be refilled with goods, declined nearly 13 percent, which the port said largely offset the gains in imports and exports.
