In Thursday morning trading, the Dow Jones industrial average was up 80 points, or 0.5 percent, to 14,905.
The Nasdaq rose 37 points, or 1 percent, to 3,630.
The S&P 500 climbed 10 points, or 0.6 percent, to 1,645.
