Moss Adams LLP, a Seattle-based accounting and consulting firm, has appointed Jacob A. Azar to lead the not-for-profit practice in the Los Angeles office. Azar was most recently director of quality control and audit partner in the not-for-profit/healthcare practice with Feeley & Driscoll, a CPA firm in Boston.
Architecture & Construction
HGA Architects & Engineers, an architecture, engineering, and planning firm, hired Marc Davidson to its Los Angeles office as associate vice president and project manager. Davidson most recently worked as associate vice president for Cannon Design in L.A.
K. Hovnanian, Southern California Region, a homebuilder based in Ontario, promoted Angela Wilson to land planning manager for the desert in San Bernardino County. She was most recently the senior land planning specialist.
Consulting
First Consulting Group, a provider of outsourcing, consulting, systems implementation and integration for life sciences organizations, named Richard Skinner vice president in its health care IT practice. Skinner was previously chief information officer at Providence Health Systems.
Construction
The Greater Los Angeles/Ventura Chapter of the Building Industry Association, a professional trade organization, appointed Holly Schroeder as chief executive. Schroeder most recently managed the water quality division of the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.
Design
Chase Design Group, an L.A. designer of fonts and logos, has hired Henry Rosenblit director of business development. Rosenblit was previously vice president of business development for Richard Holbrook Design in Pasadena.
Entertainment
Level 3 Post, a digital post production facility service has hired post production artist O.T. Hight and colorist Randy Beveridge to work on the ABC series “Grey’s Anatomy.” Both Hight and Beveridge were previously at Westwind Media.
Gil Goldschein has been promoted to senior vice president, business and legal affairs, at the Van Nuys-based entertainment company Bunim-Murray Productions. Goldschein was vice president. Also at Bunim-Murray, Phil Castaneda was promoted to senior vice president, production finance and Patrick Murphy was promoted to senior vice president and executive in charge of production. They were both previously vice presidents. Mark Raudonis was promoted to vice president, production; Dave Stone was promoted to vice president, music; and Farnaz Farjam was promoted to director of production. Raudonis and Stone were both previously directors, and Farjam held coordinating and line producer credits on several shows, most recently “The Simple Life.”
Digital Kitchen, a Santa Monica-based development and production company, has hired Cynthia Biamon to focus on its entertainment portfolio. Biamon most recently served as president of Appian Way, a development company she co-founded with actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
Insurance
The United Agribusiness League named Jay Ross as vice president of sales for the Irvine-based association’s health care plan. Ross most recently sold an insurance company he founded in 2003.
Law
Klinedinst PC, a full service firm engaged in litigation and transactional law practice, hired Donna Y. Chronister as an attorney in the Los Angeles office. She is a recent member of the State Bar of California.
Manatt Phelps & Phillips LLP, a national law and consulting firm, added two associates to the land use practice in the Los Angeles office. Victor S. De la Cruz was most recently in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins. David A. Rand worked in litigation at Thelen Reid & Priest in San Francisco.
Brown Winfield & Canzoneri Inc., a law firm in downtown Los Angeles, elected Wayne Grajewski, to shareholder. Grajewski was senior counsel at the firm.

Qualstar Corp., a Simi Valley-based manufacturer of automated tape libraries, appointed Robert C. King vice president of sales. King was most recently vice president of sales for E20 Communications.
Real Estate
Younan Properties Inc., a privately held real estate investment group headquartered in Woodland Hills, recently appointed Julian Siaw as an asset manager. Siaw most recently was a corporate finance analyst for WebEx Communications Inc.
Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Brokerage Co., a commercial real estate brokerage, has promoted Joseph Cesta to sales manager of its Ontario office. Cesta was previously a sales associate with the company.
Retail
The board of Arden Group Inc., parent company of Gelson’s Markets, re-elected Robert A. Davidow as director. Steven C. Gordon was also elected as a director on the board. Gordon is currently president, chief executive and a director of Domino Realty.
Dole Food Co. Inc., based in Westlake Village, promoted John F. Amaya to president, Dole Fresh Flowers. Amaya previously was vice president and chief financial officer of Dole Fresh Flowers.
Technology
Northrop Grumman Space Technology has made three promotions. David M. DiCarlo is now vice president of programs. He was formerly vice president of engineering. Clayton K.S. Kau has been appointed vice president of engineering. Previously, he was vice president and program manager for Advanced EHF. John F. Daegele will become vice president and program manager of Advanced EHF. He was previously vice president and director of systems engineering.
Aerospace Corp. appointed Andrew J. Schickling as principal director of Navy Space Systems. Kevin M. Severin has been promoted to principal director of the Network Systems and Services Subdivision. Schickling was most recently principal director of the Space Based Infrared System High Space Segment. Severin was director of the Technology and Architecture Department.
SK-EarthLink, a joint venture between SK Telecom and EarthLink to market wireless voice and data services in the U.S., named Sky Dayton chief executive and Wonhee Sull chief operating officer. Dayton is the founder of EarthLink. Sull was chief technology officer for SK Telecom’s wireless data business. The headquarters for SK-EarthLink will be in West Los Angeles.
ISWest, a technology company in Agoura Hills, has named Phil Walker as director of sales and marketing. Walker was most recently the director and manager of sales for the California region at SBC/Encore.
Cherokee International Corp., a Tustin-based provider of custom-designed power supplies, promoted Mukesh Patel to executive vice president of global operations. Patel was most recently Cherokee’s vice president of information technology.
Travel
Viking River Cruises, headquartered in Woodland Hills, hired Michael Bonner as senior vice president, corporate planning and finance and Robert Roe as group financial controller. Bonner was most recently vice president, corporate planning for Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises. Roe comes to Viking from Uniworld, a Los Angeles-based travel company, where he was chief financial officer.
Yolanda Ramirez has been promoted from manager of product development, Mexico, for Pleasant Holidays to director of the department. She works at the company’s headquarters in Westlake Village.
