Ann Young Lee is one of the foremost humanitarian leaders shaping the future of emergency response and recovery for vulnerable communities in and beyond crises around the globe. For more than two decades — from conflict zones in Haiti, Ukraine, Sudan and Syria to natural disasters across the Caribbean and United States – Lee took a founder driven earthquake relief effort, co-founded alongside Sean Penn after Haiti’s 2010 earthquake, and built it into CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort) — a global emergency response organization operating on six continents. CORE is credited with 42 disaster responses and 14.4 million people helped, led by a team of nearly 200 humanitarian staff. CORE’s operations have spanned North America, South America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
