Ahuja was named chief executive of Sony Pictures Entertainment, effective Jan. 2, succeeding Tony Vinciquerra, who remains at the company as chair until Dec. 31. In that role, Ahuja guides the Culver City-based studio’s global businesses, which include motion pictures, television studios and networks, experiences and entertainment technology. Since joining Sony Pictures in 2021, Ahuja has overseen the company’s M&A activities, including the acquisitions of nonfiction entertainment company Industrial Media, British production company Bad Wolf and VFX company Pixomondo. Prior to joining Sony Pictures, Ahuja was president of business operations and chief financial officer of Walt Disney Television. He is also on the board of Roku Inc.
