Barnes took the helm of Santa Monica-based prescription drug savings platform company GoodRx Holdings in January. Hopes are now riding on the ability of Barnes, a veteran executive in the pharmacy benefits industry, to put the company back on solid footing after a costly dispute two years ago with Kroger and to navigate more recent challenges in the pharmacy industry, including bankruptcies and hundreds of store closings. Within weeks, she led the launch of GoodRx for Pets to promote customer access to discounts on pet medications. And she’s overseeing the full implementation of the company’s e-commerce platform launched last fall. Prior to joining GoodRx, Barnes was chief executive of Birmingham, Alabama-based RxBenefits Inc.
