2025 Health Care Awards | TOP MEDICAL CENTER OR HOSPITAL SYSTEM OF THE YEAR HONOREE

UCLA Health is among the world’s most advanced and comprehensive health care systems, with a mission to provide state-of-the-art patient care, generate research discoveries leading to new treatments and diagnoses, and train future medical professionals. UCLA Health offers an array of medical services at five medical centers: Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center; UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital; the Stewart and Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA; UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center; UCLA West Valley Medical Center; and a network of more than 280 specialty and primary care clinics across Southern California. As an academic health system, UCLA Health – which includes the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA – provides access to technology and treatments that may not be available elsewhere. UCLA Health doctors and scientists are pioneering work in an astounding range of disciplines – from organ transplantation and cardiac surgery to neurosurgery and cancer treatment – and are bringing the latest discoveries to virtually every field of medicine. A prominent aspect of UCLA Health’s five-year institutional goals for fiscal years 2024-2028 is to continue to improve patient access to UCLA Health services by providing timely, convenient and equitable access to the patients and communities it serves. In the past nine years, UCLA Health has added more than 100 clinics in Southern California and taken multiple other steps to enhance patient access, including last year’s acquisition of West Hills Hospital, now named UCLA West Valley Medical Center. This effort helped UCLA Health to immediately address the significant inpatient, emergency department and operating room capacity constraints in the health system.
