THE BUZZ: Clearlake Capital led a consortium in the acquisition of the Premier League’s Chelsea Soccer Club for approximately $5.2 billion last year. Feliciano and Eghbali appear to have high hopes for the team’s future given the value of the team at the time of the purchase was placed at around $3.09 billion. But the team does appear to be gaining, as Deloitte estimated its value to be around $3.3 billion as of July 2023.The Iranian-born Eghbali began his career in investment banking in the mergers and acquisitions group at Jefferies Broadview and in the technology group at Morgan Stanley & Co.
