Reinstein is the founder and chair of Regent, a Beverly Hills-based private
equity firm. Regent’s diverse global portfolio spans the technology,
media, consumer products, retail and industrial sectors. In February, Regent
acquired the Lydall automotive business from Clearlake Capital and
agreed to purchase the Pearson Online Learning Services business. In
addition, the firm’s portfolio includes Club Monaco, DIM Brands (formerly
Hanes Europe), Plainville, The Military Times, Defense News, Sunset
Magazine, Lillian Vernon, Escada and La Senza, as well as the Diamondback
and Redline bicycle brands. An attorney by training, Reinstein’s
career began as a junior staffer under former President Ronald Reagan.
