McDonald’s Latest Offer: New Burgers, Table Service

McDonald’s will roll out a new menu along with table service in more than 600 restaurants in Southern California, the company said on Monday.

The new offering, called the Taste Crafter Burgers and Chicken menu, will allow customers to pair their choice of beef or grilled or buttermilk chicken with a roll of their choosing: Sesame seed, potato, or artisan.

In another move, McDonald’s on Monday began offering table service in the 600 restaurants throughout Southern California. Customers still will order at the counter but the food will be delivered to the table.

Through a spokesperson, Clay Paschen III, President of McDonald’s Operators’ Association of Southern California said that the company expanded the menu in an effort to respond to customer demand, but said it was too early to tell whether the menu would be offered in McDonald’s stores nationwide.

Asked if the latest move was a way to compete with smaller burger chains such as Five Guys Burgers and Fries, which offers customized options, Paschen said that the company regularly looks at the menu to find new ways to meet the needs of customers, but did not directly comment.
