DC Comics will move its operations from New York City to the Warner Bros Studios lot in Burbank in 2015, according to media reports.

The move consolidates on the West Coast all of DC Entertainment operations dealing with the development and production of feature films, television, video game and consumer products featuring its stable of popular superheroes, including Batman and Superman.

Published reports cite DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson as notifying the publishing division employees on Oct. 29 that its operations will relocate and they will be given the opportunity to move with their position to California.

DC Entertainment was launched as a division of Warner Bros. Entertainment in 2009. The following year the operations responsible for development and production of filmed entertainment, video games and consumer products moved to Burbank while publishing remained in New York City, its home for more than seven decades.

The publishing division is made of DC Comics, the Vertigo graphic novels brand, and Mad Magazine. The combined operations employ about 100 people and put out 1,200 titles a year, according to media reports.
