CB Richard Ellis Group Inc. late Thursday said it promoted Gil Borok to chief financial officer.

Borok takes over from Bob Sulentic, who will continue as president of the Los Angeles real estate services company. Borok was hired as CB Richard Ellis’ corporate controller in 2002, and most recently served as chief accounting officer for the entire company and CFO of its Americas operations.

Borok also served as interim CFO for three months in late 2008 and early 2009. “I am pleased to welcome Gil back to the CFO role,” said Chief Executive Brett White in a press release. “He has intimate knowledge of our finances and a deep understanding of our business.”

Borok’s promotion allows Sulentic to devote more attention to running the company’s day-to-day business operations, the press release stated.

Shares earlier closed up 1 cent, or less than 1 percent, to $13.58 on the New York Stock Exchange.
